The Funk Heritage Center is Georgia’s Official Frontier and Southeastern Indian Interpretive Center, and it is a certified National Park Service Trail of Tears Interpretive Site.
It is our mission to tell the story of the early Appalachian Settlers and Southeastern Indians through educational programming and the collection, care, and exhibition of art and artifacts.
Our school & homeschool tours, adult & senior tours, lectures, and other programs transport visitors to centuries past. Experience what our ancestors' lives were like in both ancient and more recent times.
Every day we mobilize our teams of volunteers to take our visitors into another time. Join us and see what can be accomplished when you get an impassioned team to focus on engagement.
The Funk Heritage Center features five galleries that immerse visitors in narratives, reaching far into our region's ancient past. Some exhibits, such as the Trail of Tears, have interactive features.
